Jesus and Justice
Led by Alan Vancil
Begins January 9
James 1:22
But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.
Matthew 25:40
“If you have done it to the least of these my brethren, you have done it to me.”
The antithesis of this I think is also true. “If you haven’t done it to the least of these my brethren, you haven’t done it to me.”
This is a class that will discuss social justice issues through the teachings of Jesus. Come with an open mind and with a loving heart. It is impossible to talk about justice without talking a little about politics. All viewpoints will be listened to respectfully and without Judgment. People will be asked to compare their beliefs and life activities with the teachings of Jesus. Each person will critique only their own lives and not criticize, judge, or shame another into changing. If you are so deeply rooted in your beliefs that you can’t let others have different opinions without getting angry or judgmental, this may not be the class for you.
The Armor of God
A women’s study written by Priscilla Shirer
Led by Ginny Hall
Begins January 9
All day, every day, an invisible war rages around you — unseen, unheard, yet felt throughout every aspect of your life. A devoted, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you: your heart, your mind, your marriage, your children, your relationships, your resilience, your dreams, your destiny. But his battle plan depends on catching you unaware and unarmed. If you're tired of being pushed around and caught with your guard down, this study is for you.
The Enemy always fails miserably when he meets a woman dressed for the occasion. The Armor of God, more than merely a biblical description of the believer's inventory, is an action plan for putting it on and developing a personalized strategy to secure victory.
You Were Made for This!
