Meet our Staff

Dr. Paul Wilke
Senior Pastor
Dr. Paul Wilke is a United Methodist preacher who loves the Lord and deeply loves the church. He has served in a variety of ministry settings including Campus Ministry at SMU, Circuit Pastor in the British Methodist Church, Pastor with Single Adults at FUMC Houston, TX, Director of Congregational Care at FUMC Wichita, and Pastor at the Church of the Cross UMC in Salina, KS.
Paul is a graduate of Wichita East High School, Southwestern College in Winfield (B.Ph.), Perkins School of Theology at SMU in Dallas (M.Div.), and United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio (D. Min.).
Currently Paul is the Senior Pastor of Woodlawn U.M. Church in Derby, KS. He enjoys being an Honorary Commander with the Chaplains at McConnell Air Force Base, Acting Chaplain with the Derby High School Varsity Football Team, early morning basketball at the Derby Recreation center, sailing at Winfield Lake, and anything the kids are doing.
Paul and his wife Janelle have two children, Michelle and Matthew.

Adam Barlow-Thompson
Associate Pastor
Adam started at Woodlawn in July of 2010. Adam is helping with new ministries in the church that reach young adults and people on the fringes. At Woodlawn we try to be intentional and realistic about “Rethinking Church” and Adam helps us do that. If you are interested in doing church differently contact Adam today!
Adam grew up in Salina and went to college in Winfield at Southwestern College. While attending Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Chicago Adam met his wife Ashley. Ashley is a Deacon in the UMC and works in Andover as a youth director. Adam enjoys ball golf, disk golf, coffee, guitar, throwing parties, and reading blogs. He’s just a normal dude who happens to be a pastor too.

Vic Calcote
Pastor of Congregational Care
Vic joined the staff as interim associate pastor in June 2009. Pastor Vic is responsible for leading our ministries of congregational care. He is a retired UM pastor and has served churches in Detroit/Bethany, Moundridge, Oakley, Ellis and Epworth UMC and Bethel UMC in Wichita.
Vic and his wife, Eileen, have two children and six grandchildren.

Jan Brandom
Director of Adult Ministries
Jan joined the staff as Director of Adult Ministries in July 2007. Jan came to Woodlawn from the Furley United Methodist Church, where she was an active member for over 20 years, serving in a variety of ministries. She is a graduate of Friends University with a major in Human Resource Management.
Jan and her husband Vance have two grown daughters, Erin and Kelli, son-in-law Jacob (Erin’s husband) and a beautiful granddaughter, Ryann.

Daniel Kipp
Director of Youth Ministries
Daniel joined the staff as Director of Youth Ministries in June 2009 having graduated from Central Christian College of Kansas in McPherson. He majored in Pastoral Ministries with a minor in Psychology. Before coming to Woodlawn he spent three years as the summer youth intern at Cheney United Methodist Church. He has a passion to see youth transformed as they realize the joy that comes from serving God.

Dynaa Gallegos
Director of Children’s Ministries
Dynaa’ joined the staff as Director of Children’s Ministries in March 2009. Dynaa’ graduated from Concordia University in Texas in 2003 with a degree in Christian Education and an emphasis in children’s ministry. Before coming to Woodlawn, Dynaa’ served as Director of Children’s ministry at Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Wichita.
Dynaa’ and her husband Jeremy have two daughters, Jenna and Molly.
